Downtown Disney Footbridge ~ Disneyland Drive
Disneyland Resort ~ July 10th, 2010
When I was a kid, the excitement of spending a day at Disneyland would really kick in at the intersection of Ball and Harbor Boulevard, where I could see the giant iconic Disneyland sign in the distance.
Nowadays when I drive along Harbor Blvd, there is no sense that I am driving through the Resort area, aside from tourists crowded around street corners. I can easily drive right by Disneyland without any sign, literally and figuratively.
More attention should be focused on sprucing up Harbor Boulevard (specifically from Ball Boulevard to Katella Avenue). Ideally, I would love to see it reflect the Resort as Disneyland Drive does. I am truly surprised by how Disney does not seem to consider that, as this stretch of Harbor Boulevard is largely the first impression of the area and the Park.
And that is a bad sign.
