Last month when I wasn't channeling Paula Deen, I sat down and finally figured out the ripple effect. It took me all of five minutes. There I was: baking edible goodies and crocheting geometrical stitches. I was tempted to skip down to the beach to see if I could also walk on water.
Beneath the book is the now-unraveled Beach Blanket Bimbo. I had thought I would reuse the yarn for a ripple blanket, but the length wasn't to my liking. It could have a chance as a Beach Bunny Blanket.
But for now, I am working on my Rip, Rip Hurray Blanket! It's a blast working on this blanket:
I'm working with a color-scheme, which some may think is Use Every Color Yarn I Own:
It's one thing to put two strands of color together - and another to see how they actually look crocheted next to each other. There are so many color combinations in Rip, Rip Hurray that I will use for other projects - namely, more ripples and creations found in the books my pusher daughter, Marissa, bought me for Solstice & birthday gifts:
