Coming Clean: My True Thoughts On The Shower Scene

The sacred Eric and Sookie make-out shower scene takes place on page 120 in Dead to the World.  There are fans who will seriously throw their own feces at Alan Ball's face if he does not bring this to the screen in Season Four.

I am not one of 'em.  I will, however, lose my shit if Alan Ball plays it out like it's done in the book.

Charlaine Harris totally turned me off from shower sex when she wrote "...never touching my breasts, which were practically quivering like puppies who wanted to be petted." So not the kind of doggy-style erotica I want to read. And if I were a man, I would've gone limp indefinitely after reading "I kind of folded Mr. Happy up against Eric's stomach." I had to read a heavy dose of fan-fiction to save my sex drive.

The entire shower scene was hard to stomach. And I am convinced that it is not the ideal setting for True Blood's Sookie and Eric to have their first intense intimate act. And besides, True Blood Eric needs to grab a hold of Sookie's hair, which is harder to do when wet. Oh hell.
 

At the top of my Season Four Fantasy List:

I hope Alan Ball skips the shower, but not the foreplay. Eric and Sookie make love for the first time in Sookie's bed beginning on page 122 and continues on until page 126. Charlaine delivers much better here. Although, I have crossed out the words  "nub" and "penis" and written in more choice nouns — sometimes you just gotta take matters into your hands, you feelin' me?

For the love of Godric, please Mr. Ball have Eric look up with a glistening face, eyes full of lust and love, and say to Sookie,  "Look at me, lover" and then bite into her femoral artery! Summer temps in 2011 will never get hotter than that scene and I'll definitely have heatstroke.

There is a huge (ahem!) difference between Eric and Bill when it comes to sex, and this is why I do want a shower scene between Sookie and Eric at some point in Season Four:

In the episode "Everything is Broken" we are forced to watch Bill and Sookie shower together after their fucking-like-zombie pigs-fornication in "A Night on the Sun." And just when you think you cannot vomit anything else up, Bill begins bloody finger-banging the open-wound fang bites on Sookie's neck — and what the fuck — why hasn't he ever healed his fang bites on her neck before?

In contrast, Eric always heals Sookie's fang bites by "lazily" licking them during their post-coital bliss. And I would love to see him do this to her in the shower, after a heart-racing, panty-drenching, truly intimate lovemaking scene. Just to prove a fucking point. And 'cause the SookieEricVerse totally deserves a shower scene.

So in conclusion, Sookie and Eric can (please, please, please!) get down and dirty all over the damn place, but stay out of the shower until late in the season.
